SupraStar 3000
When I joined I had to use "Suprastar 3000" because most other combinations were unavailable, but I hav'nt seen any members with simular names to mine. (probably because it sounds gay) Think the register must have an automated system that only works on certain situations.
Terminator
I could not agree more Dude. We are a pay membership club now, I assume be a simple task to change the rules to say give x weeks with no posting then the name gets deleted. It is not as if it would mess up the threads. Even posts could be removed if someone had not returned for a specified time, at mod discretion if it made no change to the thread.
mawby
When we upgraded we did our first prune of user names, deleted nearly a thousand. We don't plan to do it again until the next upgrade, probably the end of the year again. If we delete a user who has posts then all their posts will show up with the name "Guest", which sometimes removes context of the post if you can't remember who originally posted it. To remove thier posts, well that would also leave threads in a mess. Amagine this.. I post : Wheels are round Old user : No, they are square Another member : Don't be so stupid, I can't beleive you said that I then come along and delete the old user post, now the thread doesn't make sense. Crap example I know, but you get the idea. So, as per last year, we intend to delete users who have not logged in for 12 months, and whose post count is zero after we've recalculated them. (Don't worry you posting whores, only members who haven't logged in will get their post count recalculated). If you think this should be changed then please post suggestions. Jake
I don't think you should delete any posts. I don't see a problem with deleteing users that have never posted though.

Muffleman
My username has been a little, er, embarassing when it comes to actually chatting with board members - but now who's laughing eh Muffleman - never copied Saying that, I didn once try and join a forum where the name was taken, but I think it was actually me and couldn't remember my password I have to agree with the 'no posts and you're outta here' suggestion tho. Bobbeh
People changing their username is more confusing. THAT should be banned.
Scoboblio
I agree that there should be some sort of warning when you're about to register a username that is close to one that already exists... when I originally joined I used Ianc.... only to find that it would be far too confusing because of Ian C
Tannhauser
I don't understand why members should be deleted if they don't post anything. Why? I frequently visit Supraforums and have been registered there for a long time, but I've never posted on there once - I'm content to search to get the info. I need (I can also do without the impatient, rude responses that seem to be heaped upon every newbie on there). If members haven't visited for months or years, that's a different matter. Long live the lurker!
