Scott Posted June 14, 2009 Share Posted June 14, 2009 Just watched this on discovery. The guys built a drag bike, which they had never done before etc, and had it tested out on the 1/4 mile. Before the NAPA bike went down the 1/4 mile they all got taught how to drag race. They had a couple of goes and managed approx 10.5 secs and 135mph. This sounded perfectly plausible to me, next came the NAPA drag bike made by the OCC guys. 9.89 sec @ 107mph???? This doesn't ring true to me, is this even possible? It sounds like making up the figures for TV ratings. I did a google but couldn't find much information on the run. Anyone else see it? Is it possible to run 9's barely over 100mph? I know that if it goes from 0-100 in 2 secs then stays there its possible but is that likely? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

For what its worth IMO the OCC guys are enthusiastic kit assemblers and dressers. They buy too much off the shelf kit and just razzle dazzle it up with a theme. Vinny was VERY talented and VERY hardworking but treated like a mediocre employee at best. Like when Senior made it Vinny's responsibility to keep the shop tidy of every one else rubbish.
