i did actually type out the lyrics to one song and was about to post them but felt as embarrassed as i would be if i was actually singing them.

on a plus side i have tracked down one track so far.

anti social - get into love

Post the lyrics (and yes, they'll be pure cheese), you'll be surprised how easy it is to find the tune from those.

DJ Vibes? I would be surprised if you had an actual track listing. Happy hardcore was pretty much an almost underground thing so any tapes sold were just of the entire event, without listings.

I was into it all in a BIG way. Used to dance at a few events lol.

A girl I used to live with absolutely loved happy hardcore. More specifically I seem to remember DJ Doogle and the 'Pretty Green Eyes' song that was re-released recently.

I didn't really mind it...although I objected when she used to come in from clubbing at 3.30am and stick it on while I was asleep.

Ive still got loads of it on my laptop, all the old classics from paul elstack, DJ Slipmatt & Dougal, SMD and the like lol. The Kinetic stuff was good back then. More into the early 90's dance now rether than hardcore. Things like Sweet Harmony by Liquid, Ratpack, Trip to Trumpton, Hardcore Uproar etc. Pm me some lyrics if you dont want them up on here and Ill try to find out what they are.

I still listen to it from time to time.

Absolutely loved it and me and my mate used to DJ with happy hardcore, scouse house and techno.

Still have over 3000 vinyls of happy hardcore.

My mates brother is a producer for happy hardcore and i get most my stuff of him.

My fave of all time was heart of gold

Is there any way you can get audio of the tracks onto your computer? Do you have a mic that you can record with? You can always use some headphones in your mic socket.

If you have lyrics it should be easy enough, post them. But if they are instrumental, it will be quite hard to ID them without an audio clip.

I love hardcore especially the early-mid 80's stuff. Minor Threat, Black Flag, Youth of Today, No For An Answer, Crass et al.

So much better than the electronic shite, made for chavs, that borrows the name.

Hardcore, in that sense, was almost exclusively American so I would not include Crass - they are more 2nd wave punk.

In fact Minor Threat and Youth of Today were in the Straight Edge sub-genre which promoted the no drink, no smoke, no sex policy that i lived by as a youth (partly by default!) But the best of the US bands (IMO) were the Dead Kennedys - but only ever WITH jello.

ive found a casette today after a clear out which i used to listen to over and over again back in the day. the only problem is that there isnt a track listing for the casette and i really need to find out the track names.

what to do is find someone with an iphone and shazam app - play the music and the phone will tell you the artist and title - simples!

There were UK Hardcore bands and, after their initial releases Crass did develop a more hardcore sound so I'm right in lumping them in there.

I was sXe from the time I was introduced to Minor Threat, aged 11, back in '82 until my late 20s. Then I got disillusioned with the scene and the straighter-than-thou posers.

BTW No For An Answer were sXe too. Very much in the YoT second wave though and with a much harder sound.
