Wez
Hey Guys, Just a quick couple of questions, I am looking to do an oil change and decided to go for the valvoline stuff, most people seem to be using it, how much do i need and is it an easy job? The other question is whats the best size tyres for the standard 17" rims and don`t say 17" just wondered whats max width and wall size, don`t need em yet but curious. Is there a prefered make and model of tyre aswell, i really liked the SO2 on my old car but no longer avail and i have heard that the SO3 is not as good which is a damn shame. Any help u guys can offer would be great. Regards Wez
Bobbeh
Hi Wez.. cant comment on the Oil situation yet as I havent needed a change yet. I guess if its freqently changed (when required) any good brand is ok. People here seem to prefer Valvoline like you say. As far as tyres, the GY Eagle F1's I've got on the rears are nice. They replaced Khumos which were worn but not that grippy in the dry. So far the F1's have been great in the dry and wet. Standard size for my 17's, 255x40xZR17. Probably best to stick with stock recommended sizes. The pilot sports by michelin are rated as are the bridgstone S02's. Theses are more expensive tho, I got my rears for 99£ each. The Pilot sports were 125 each iirc. Rob.

I use goodyear Eagle F1's all round on mine and they are amazing. Most other RWD cars I know, the owners run them with the Goodyears also. Gaz. Justin
I have just fitted a pair of Goodyear F1's and they seem to be pretty damn good. I am also in the process of trying to get some Valvoline Synpower 5w50 as both of the above were recommended by many people here. Cheers:)

If you do a search there should be lots on oil changes. Two approaches to filter change from above or below. You need about 5.5 lt of oil so two packs of Valvoline. Not difficult to do the job your self . Try to change the oil every3K to 4K.
Matt Harwood
The F1's are bloody good tyres but you can get tyres with a better speed rating. Depends if you're likely to want to do many top speed events or how fast you're likely to drive
Terminator
I am running F1 fronts and SO3 rears . This seems like a good combination, no problems yet. Excellent cornering grip:D

Syed Shah
For oil change, ever 2.5-4k depending on how hard it's driven,. Oil change is a bit of a pain, especially reaching the oil filter, but not very difficult to DIY.

Gaz Walker
I would change between 3-4k miles yes, have done in all my cars... Gaz.
Alex
Turbo engines are notoriously hard on oil...at £50 to change the filter and oil...is it worth not doing??? 3-5k miles is what mine does....but most are motorway miles...low stress off/low boost. lust2luv
I'll echo the aclaim for the F1s. Had to drive home in that storm 1am last night, driving rain, strong crosswinds, flooded, pot-hole peppered Welsh roads, wet leaves and twigs on the road, not so much as a twitch from the rears the whole drive. Really confidence inspiring. Make sure you go for the GS-D3s though, they're the newest award-winning ones. They're ZR rated, I thought that was the highest speed rating?
