Two more quick attempts, tomorrow and wednesday. Failing that they will push it back a bit.

I heard 60% chance of weather stopping it again tomorrow and 40% the following day.

Aha - Wednesday attempt only: 5:58pm launch window opens, 6:03pm preferred launch time, 6:08 launch window closes.

Which US time zone are they in?

5 hours behind us at the mo... (I think, I always get this wrong though)

Stupid question for Gav - is the bigger fuel jobbie rust coloured because it's actually rusted? EIther way, why is everything else painted white (presumably to help reflect heat) and that not, won't all the sections be subject to the same(ish) peak air friction & resulting effects?

The large rusty looking thing is the external fuel tank, and the reason it isn't painted any more is due to the weight of the paint as well as the fact it simply just gets dropped off and burnt. It is the normal colour of the insulation foam. They have also changed the composition of the foam. It is natually cream/white originally but gets tanned as it sits in the sun.

During the first few STS missions it was painted white..
