mark newman
it is a cat b ,for parts only . The shell when finished taken parts from, is be disposed of, by a licenced disposal person, ie a scrap yard. the shell can not go back on the road thats it. But who wants a shell with front end damage,? no one, but who would want all the parts from a tt . loads of people. swap it all to a n/a .
Homer
it is a cat b ,for parts only . But who wants a shell with front end damage,? no one, but who would want all the parts from a tt . loads of people. swap it all to a n/a . The issue is that your insurance company are not legally allowed to 'sell' the car back to you. If the claim has gone through it is now their property and they HAVE to use a licensed salvage yard to dispose of it. That is the law. On the other hand, if you want someone to come over a nab the engine for a few reddies you have my number
mark newman
Homer your wrong i have all the paper work for the car from the insurance company. with the buy back price. which i have said yes to. they have sent me a disclouser form to be completed . Legislation states that category b vehicles must be broken down for parts and the remainder of the vehicle crushed. Category b vehicles will then be issued with a certificate of destruction. the DVLA will be notified and they will reguire return of the vehicle registration document. Category B vehicles are classified as hazardours waste and must be handled by appropriat licensed personnel. As you have decided to retain your vehicle you must contact a licensed person who is authorised to remove and dispose of the vehicle. I the undersigned, fully understand the content of this letter and i am aware of my obligations with regard to the retention of the vehicle. As you can see, word for word from the Insurance company. and yes the claim as gone through . ie cheque in the post. but if no one wants the whole car i will brake it down . and make a lot more from it .
