Central locking problems

Ever since I had the car back form the spray shop. The car locks and unlocks if you put the key in the door barrel. It unlocks both doors, also the switch inside the car will unlock and lock the doors.

The problem occurs when I use my alarm key fob it only arms and disarms the alarm. Previously it unlocked and locked the doors aswell. Also once you had started the car they would lock automatically (the anti hijack mode) none of this works now and its a pita using the key all the time as I don't want to scratch my new paint. Ps it is a toad alarm system.

Any ideas on what could be the problem? Thanks guys

If you take the driver's side door card off, there will be a little white connector that has come loose - it's quite a common thing.

Just took the door card off. All connectors seem to be fine. Which one is it that comes loose? Whats the location of the connector within the door? Central locking works on the key and button on door card but not on alarm fob or the button on my key.

Sound like the interface in the door circuit isn't working. The central locking control box is on the passenger side of the dash, however you would first need to work out how/where the alarm interfaces into the stock wiring.

The alarm control box is situated in the drivers footwell behind the plastic trim and inline with the door wiring hole. I shall further investigate. Thanks

It may be that where the battery has been disconnected for a while, the alarm system has reset, and the remote locking needs to be re activated. Check the manual that came with the alarm.

This would certainly be the case for the anti hijack system, as it is off by default and has to be activated by the user.
