clarky666
Ola ! Had my Supra for about a month now and one which which is really bugging me is the car sounding like a bloody HGV when i am reversing with that nutty beeping noise. Is this a JDM feature? Reason i ask as the MR2's i had were J-spec and neither of them had the thing. Is there any way to remove it without too much hassle? DaveR
Huh. Interesting. Mine's J-Spec and I never had this problem. Obviously a previous owner went through what you did and got rid of it!
SupraStar 3000
My imported Shoguns have the same beep as does my J-spec Soop. Must be a Jap thing My g/f calls it the Austin Powers multi turn alarm. LOL
downimpact
my jspec has never done that and I was was the first keeper in the UK. Maybe it was optional?
clarky666
Alright guys cheers. Actually was my GF that noticed about two weeks after having the car as the stereo must always have drowned it out when i was driving. Mine is a 1999 model so maybe an added extra on the later imports ?

ellis
Mine does it too - pointless thing it is! I'm pulling the dash apart at the weekend to fit Garfy's spoiler override switch so will yank that wire out at the same time!

Abz
I was given courtsey car from EuroSpec and this was an imported Celica which had (94) this beeping noise when reversing, my Supe has it as well, looks like it was an JDM thing for Auto's. Best thing is every passenger who hears it goes... "Ohhhh you got reverse parking sensors", I am like "Yep, they come as standard" =D

ellis
"On mine, I found it behind the dash. If you remove the dash in the normal way and then completely remove the speed/rev/fuel/temp dash arrangement you'll find a little grey plug-in adapter on the back of the circuit board. Just take it off and thats it. All it does is take power from the back of the rev counter."
