[ANGRY][/ANGRY]Went to Oasis concert at Heaton Park Sunday night.

Never again!!!!! :(

Within 5 metres of where we stood there was a fight, loads of hash smoking (not such an issue), coke sniffers falling all over and we got covered in p*ss continually as the animals there thought it was funny to throw cups of warm urine.

I am proud to be a Mancunian, but the Manc scumbags there made me realise why we get such a bad reputation....

Oasis themselves were excellent, Kasabian ok and The Enemy poor!

Anyone else go??

Jeeeebuss, sounds like a right nice bunch, I wouldn't have thought it is a manc thing, as it happens down south as well, it is one of the primary reason I don't go out half as much as I used to.

Surely you can expect a bit of skunk in the air and people relieving themselves against trees rather than queue for 20 minutes to go in a smelly portaloo, but is throwing ones urine in the air a common event at outdoor festivals??

Worst thing is there were girls about 10 - 12 YO there with their fathers. I would have left immediatley if I had taken my daughter who is 13!!!!

Okay, glad to hear it isn't just me who refuses to take his daughter to a concert...She is 14 and reckons she is hard done by because I won't let her go to a concert....Currently she 'hates' me, but such is life for her :eyebrows:

The cycle of a girls relationship with father:

0 - 12 ish love and wants to be with all the time.

12 - 18 rather be with friends. Will talk when she wants money or to try and get reversed decision on something Mum has stated!!

18 - 22 will always be in close contact - WHEN she needs money or a taxi - LOL!

22+ you are the best thing ever and it is like the 0 - 12 stage.

MOO - My opinion only!! :)

Apparently it is a common event at festivals. And not only outdoor ones either. I have known it to happen at the o2 arena/brixton academy etc.

Nasty.

I go to quite a lot of gigs and have never had urine thrown anywhere near me . Drugs are a regular occurance and the way i see it is they can do what they want to themselves as long as they keep it away from me :innocent:

I think it depends on who your going to see and the kind of people that are going to be there though .

LOL - Champers was a tad flat and too warm for my taste buds.

Police crime figures - Don't worry the local skallies were out in force helping themselves to sat navs and stereos out of the festival goers' cars.

Anybody fancy buying a nice DVD player for a Ford - :eyebrows:!!

I believe the band reminded Liam he had a gig to do, otherwise he'd have joined his friends for a night out.

I think it depends on who your going to see and the kind of people that are going to be there though .

Who you are seeing is key. All the below expect it to happen:

  • U2
  • Killers
  • Kings of Leon
  • Prodigy
  • Metallica or any hardcore metal band for that matter
  • Any open field festival which is packed full with predominantly band fans with music such as the above

In a nut shell anywhere where a band playing in a large packed/sold out arena or field where people will be going crazy jumping around - its almost a dead cert. it will happen.

There's probably one or two people on here who saw Oasis at Knebworth in '96.

I was about 100 foot from the stage and I don't recall any golden shower moments.

Can't remember which night I went, but they had Bootleg Beatles, Ocean Colour Scene (Yawn) Manics and the Prodigy. A great night out and no piss. (Once Front of House sound remembered to turn up Guigsy's bass after the 3rd song)

I've seen it happen at all of the above I listed this year and heard it happens at other concerts I was not at this year. And not one or two pints. Countless pints.

Maybe its a new thing people do in the last couple of years.

Granted not all may have been piss but there were tons flying left, right and centre. Wear black and be prepared is my advice.

Where were you standing and at what venues? If you were right at the front its likely you may not have noticed as the idiots are towards the rear, but not quite the back normally lobbing them forward.

If you went to small initimate venues its far less likely to happen. At the o2 arena/wembley arena/brixton academy it WILL happen with a floor standing crowd.

To be fair, I'd throw bottles of piss if I was watching Metallica.

I too go to a few extreme metal gigs a year and have only seen piss being thrown once, but that was at Donnington Monsters of Rock festival in '88 and it was expected. Kerrang used to print a glossary of terms in the run up to the MoR festivals and half the entries referred to throwing bottles of piss.
