dan4
A little premature yet but im looking at cars that i am prospectively going to buy in the near future. I know im never going to match the grunt that my single has but to be honest i have experienced it now and its going to be a fantastic memory. My thoughts so far are: 1) 350z 2) Evo7 3) Rx8 4) S15 5) DC5 Teg 6) FN2 type R 7) FD2 type R Now the 350z is very pretty, a little heavy but good reliable every day if need be with moderate power Evo7 was imho the first of the more luxury Evo's, but as always they are blisteringly quick and handling is awesome. May be a little fragile for everyday stuff i suppose and 4cyl motors imho are always a bit laggy Rx8 seems totally underpowered but people say their handling is thier saviour, i love the looks and interior though and the suicide doors are a nice quirk. Probably very good as a daily drive S15 is beautiful and should be quick but still using the ancient SR20 and only available as an Import, i have never owned an import nor really want to but no choice here Teg is also only import but they look fantastic inside and out and reliability will be awesome. However i have previously driven a cammed and mapped one and it was only warm FN2 has grown on me, but i doubt it will be as much fun as DC5 or FD2. However plus side would be reliable and fun. Slightly out of my price range at present FD2 is just gorgeous, but import only and currently quite expensive but seems to have a very good package along with the usual Honda reliability Fire away people......... Tones
Evo 7 all day
James
I'd probably opt for the S15 or Evo VII of those. The Evo would be handy if going UK spec with regards to parts. A friend had a 350Z not long ago and got rid of it very promptly. Just couldn't get used to no turbo (he had a 400bhp Impreza then an S3 after having a couple of 240bhp Glanzas). He swapped it for an Evo VIII and is much happier. The Hondas are good choices aswell. The DC-5 is what I would choose of those visually and with regards to price for what you're getting. It'll be bomb proof and good fun. The RX-8 I can't comment as I'm not 100% up to speed with them.
Tones
Evo 7 but if u can afford this honda id get it, its the mugen edition of the fd2 type r, serious bit of kit!! 260hp from 2.2 n/a is pretty cool. Supposed to be a right hoot to drive! http://response.jp/issue/2007/0628/article96320_1.images/147570.jpg

Gaz6002
Out of the choices I'd go for the 350Z. It's a lovely chassis and the engine note is sweet, along with the driving position. It won't be anywhere near the speed of the Supra, but without significant investment nothing on your list will be.

little num
think you will be disserpionted in all of those compared to the supra. Power looks and handling, Evo's are 2 easy to drive and dont handle round tracks. Keep the supra stop being a girl
Tom
I've got a DC5, it's a great car I've never had anything where so many people look round to see what it is it handles well, pulls well with it's nice revvy engine and it looks great, feel free to contact me if you want to go out in one, I may even let you drive it

Abz
Out of the list DC5! RX8 - my cousin brother brought one and for a short period had to use it for daily drive...18mpg when he was driving sensibly! The engine oil consumption was not too bad when he first got it (meaning he knew about the rotory engine and engine oil consumption) but its got worse! I drove it and found the 230 odd bhp didnt really feel that quick! (I had a civic couple @the time with a H22a prelude engine in it) was much slower than the civic which we didnt expect. My two pennies.
Scooter
Evo's don't handle??? Eh I think he means on the track they understeer at the limit so aren't as fun/entertaining...........I'm sure it could be sorted by a few tweaks but out of the box the supra is perhaps more neutral re over/understeer
dan4
Some good arguments going on, id say every 4wd car will understeer badly but power delivery etc is awesome I have now driven a friends tuned DC5 and it was ok and vtech noise was awesome, but as usual the lack of torque failed to impress I have got my eye on an Azure 350z at present, looks very smart even though id like another black car Evo7 uk cars seem to be all in French Blue which is rank imho, im after an RS model really aswell FD2 will be a little out of my price range now i have checked but i cant see it being a huge difference to the DC5 although track testing revealed the FD2 is quicker S2000 was considered im just not sure on them, id like to drive one Elise is hairdresser styleeee even though with the right engine they are weapons BMW imho are fail, not interested in any, especially an E46 M that sounds like a bag of nails, the 330's sound so much better
