Wolf
Just bought a new lap top and it's great but... I have broad band and whilst the wireless network works great and when I down load stuff it's very quick as is my email but on browsing the web (IE) it's really variable, sometimes so slow it's worse than dial up. It's NOT that some sites and servers are slow it's that it seems to freeze part way through downloading a page - often a refresh will speed it up ... Is anything on my settings etc slowing down browsing ( I also have Spyware doctor and Norton Antivirus running but they did not slow pages on my old PC) Any thoughts... Thanks
imi
If your running WINXP then check your MTU settings and optimise your RWIN - there is a tool called DR.TCP that can do this for you.
