Guest bennyessex
Advice needed guys - I have been told by a local garage that my aux belt tensioner is on its last legs. I can hear a continuous squeek which stops when I put the clutch in which seems to be coming from the drivers side near the front wheel arch. Anyone had this issue? Is it a home fix job on axle stands or am I best getting it done by pros? I understand they are about £150 from toyota?
Digsy
If it was your aux belt tensioner it wouldn't stop when you put your clutch in. Sounds more like a clutch release bearing.
TLicense
Agreed the aux belt tensioner isn't effected by the clutch, if you said it got louder / quieter with revs than maybe. As Digsy said, look towards the clutch release bearing.
