HKS SSQV installation

Thanks Lee, I should have checked mkiv.com first :stupid:

That bracket was a bit of a pig. Especially trying to tighten up the nut with the hose in place. (putting the hose on first seemed the lesser of the two evils at the time :) )

What's the adjustable bolt on the end for? - Does it need any adjustment?

I had a job tightening the nut for the bracket to! anyway,

Don't quote me on this, but this is how I understand it..........

The bolt on the back of the BOV adjusts the boost pressure slightly!?!?

Anyone else who can give a better explanation will also be helping me!

(NOTE: I never adjusted mine to find out!)

The bolt does exactly what Lee says, I asked the same question and the consensus was to leave it alone, so I did :)

How do you like the sound?

You can do great blow offs at high revs in 4th or 5th gear, if you lift the clutch off slowly you can make one last several seconds.

Childish yes, but great fun at scaring the crap out of people in convertibles or pedestrians.

Doesn't take much to entertain my tiny mind :)

I did mine and it is very straight forward, although I did have to bend the mounting bracket slightly to fit it in!
Just installed one - a 15 minute job because of inscrutible Japanese instructions. I'm glad the bracket bending is a common issue:eek:

How can such a simple piece of kit need such a huge manual though?

That could explain why I was getting 1.2 bar before I installed it, and 1.1 bar after. I was going to ask what the problem might be, it was like hitting a rev limiter or fuel cut but the car was still accellerating. Leaking boost would certainly explain it. So in that case correct adjustment of this could double up as a form of boost controller, preventing too much boost from being created... interesting.

Its off my old car, so I need some way of fitting it to the Sup'

Do I need a proper fitting kit or will the weld-on flange just do?

Cheers :)

Gaz.
