RedM
I want to pitch these mighty beasts head-to-head at the strip this year. I probably won't be there and you'll have more fun driving the Supra there.
RedM
Been there and done the door loom Did you replace it or simply do a botch job?
SteveR
I probably won't be there and you'll have more fun driving the Supra there. Nah I don't care. Comedy value FTW. Tracks is where it's at for me & my Supe, I enjoy the mega MPG of the 306 when on a motorway. You should still come along, what's stopping you?? Did you replace it or simply do a botch job?I know you were asking Burn, but on mine when the wires all disintegrated I shopped out the knackered ones, replace with new, longer lengths so they weren't going to getr puleld & pushed about too much. Tricky, soldering in the enclosed space between door & body, but easier than taking the door off.

I have neither the knowledge or the tools to do it but I'd love to be able to open my window again.
SteveR
Lynch mob. What, Matt H? I wouldn't lose sleep. So you just added some cable at the break point then? I have neither the knowledge or the tools to do it but I'd love to be able to open my window again. I'll take some photos for you too then shall I! You get the idea yeah - I chopped the bit of knackered cable away from both broken halves, stripped some insulation from the new 'good' ends, and soldered a new piece of similar thickness wire (think I had from 5Amp stuff in the garage - overkill but no matter) between the two, folding that out of the way so there is minimal strain on any of it as the door is opened/closed. The for good meaure I think I wrapped a load of insulation tape round it to stop water damage or shorts against other wires/bodywork occuring. Figured it'd be good for another 10 years or so now.
