Insurance for young drivers is a joke, i have just tried getting cover for my RX8 for my staff who are 18,18,20,22 to drive it as i have promised them who ever hits there targets by the end of the month gets to borrow my car and have a weekend off with a full tank of fuel as an additional bonus.

NO CHANCE UNLESS YOUR 25 AT CHURCHILL INSURANCE!!!!

its just wrong , no wonder the youth of today go robbing nice cars:(

Rant over sorry:(

You would let your staff at that age loose in your personal car??? That's brave! I remember at that age I used to give my dad's company car absolute beans, crashing one and running away from another in flames :)

Your Dad gave u his car after you crashed the previous one?

you get the brains from your Mum then :D

Hahaha...

The full story isn't much better... I had borrowed the audi quattro to take the bird out to some remote place in SA for the day when the the wiring loom went bang, with the battery in the back the loom melted and went up in smoke taking the interior with it and then the rest of the car, he subsequently got a bmw 320i as a replace car, someone pulled out in front of me at a junction and I t-boned him, the car only had 100miles on the clock and it was 1 week after the audi, so you can imagine the phone call. :)

I wonder how many unbder 25's running about in Corsa's etc are uninsured.......

Personally I have always owned performance cars from the age of 17 upwards, the first kicking off with an Audi 80 Quattro. Adrain Flux was my insurer between 1997-2005 providing quotes far below the competition for insurance cover. No reason why young folks can't buy something reasonable and get a reasonable quote and cover.

He's not ageist, the insurance companies are. And they have lots and lots of data to back it up!

True..!!

The statistics don't lie. I personally drove like a cock when I first passed my test and my mates were even worse.

I drive a lot now and when I see something not quite right with somones driving it's usually a young kid.........or a woman..:sly::D
