o/d off (flashing)

hi i know you all had a laugh with me last time and i can take a joke but i really need to know why my o/doff keeps flashing on the dash it dosnt do it all the time but most of the time please no silly answers like i had when i asked what the red button was for i need to know if i am doing something wrong or it needs to be fixed i look forward to your reply's:search:

As Dnk's said - if your O/D buttong doesn't work then it'll probably be a fault with the button's cables - they can snag and break in the gear lever, or the connector under the gear lever may have loosened.

 

If your O/D works then it'll probably be a code 42 as Digsy said - which could be a loose speed sensor on you gearbox, or again a connection in the dial binnacle.

 

Search for code 42 and you'll get lots of hits. If it's the O/D switch then a new one isn't too much from Mr T.
