On my drive to work this morning at this blind bend a bus comes flying round and takes the corner extremely wide and at speed. I am already starting to brake for the corner as I know how bad it can be. As the bus comes round the only way I can avoid it is to move to the left which results in my (recently) polished alloys smacking against the curb, making a horrific grinding noise before I mount up the curb in order to avoid a head on with the bus! When I got to work I got out and checked my wheels over...completely ruined in that the nice shiny, smoothed polished lip is now rougher than 100 grit sand paper! Have a right mind to contact the bus company and try and get money to refurb my wheels, unlikely I'd get anything but I'm so p*ssed off with the b@stard bus! /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_angry.gif Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I almost and wondered if it was illegally narrow... Thing is, i wouldn't want them re-finished anyway as they will never be as good The thing that pisses me off with buses, is the way the drivers take corners in the heavy pedestrianised city of Manchester. You can be standing on the corner of a junction waiting to cross. Then a bus comes around the corner and the rear over hangs the footway. Also, the congestion lanes (marked as bus lanes...) that councils see fit to put everywhere. It's not bad enough for buses to take up those, but they have to take up all of my lanes too! Fuckers! This nonsensical rant made sense in my head. The whole subject infuriates me so much that I can't put any rational thoughts in written form... Gutted for you, too. That sucks a lot. Bloody Williams bums, drinking all days I tell you what, if you see bus taking corner (because I do not believe he was "flying" through), do not push, he NEEDS more space to turn, buses overhang because front wheels are BEHIND a driver. I can't even count how many times I've been in same situation and ended up stationary in the middle of turn with some prat staring at me in suprise that I can't fit bloody double decker in my lane - it's NOT a car, it's a BUS, it needs some more space. However, i have been in a similar position where the bus driver just bully's past at any given opportunity. In fact, i would say it happens more often than not. Its a lot more difficult to handle on a blind bend though, where i see it happen more often than not its a perfectly open turn with perfect visibility so the bus driver has no excuse, they are just being a tool. Taxi drivers are just as bad, they cut corners like nobody's business. Maybe its something to do with driving all the time. As its a job you just don't have any patience. My pet hate is when someone is starting to slow down and then stay in most narrow place waiting for me to go through when I have no chance to do so (if he would continue in his tempo, we would go smoothly one after another). Between those drivers and the ones that think the passenger side of their car is 12 feet away i think we have covered the majority of the annoying twats on the road.
