Matt H
CPU: I would like to upgrade my CPU, so I went about doing a bit of research as I had no idea at first, and actually didn't know if it was possible. Bit of reading later, and according to Hardware Secrets.com (which has been really useful learning about this kind of thing ) I actually have quite a good scope for upgrading my CPU without changing motherboards. So, I can upgrade my CPU to any Socket 478 model, which is available up to 3.2ghz (the 350 model) http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/427/4 The model of my Motherboard: MSI P4MAM-V (MS-6787 v2.0) And according to this useful website I came across, the fastest supported CPU for my board is indeed the 350 - 3.2GHz, Prescott, FSB533, L2 Cache 256KB http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-MSI/P4MAM-V_(MS-6787v2.0).html So the first question is; what are people’s thoughts on this processor, and what would you go for? Secondly; the best place to buy? Is it E-buyer again? BIOS I then went about finding a download to update my bios to ensure that it would except the potential CPU upgrade. I have only come across, thus far, downloads that require a subscription fee Before I resort to this, are there bios update downloads available out there on the interweb that are free (and most importantly reliable?) Thanks Matt
