Guest alex101
I was able to get my JDM, 1993 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo up on a lift yesterday and upon inspecting the undercarriage I noticed that while I have a single exhaust, and all other Supras that I have seen also have a single exhaust, there are two mounting brackets (one which is in use by my exhaust) on either side of the vehicle's backside and also two heat shields. There is no way that this car could have come with a dual exhaust system from stock without removing the spare tire housing… so I'm a bit confused as to why this car would have all the capacities required to house a dual exhaust but there was none available as an option back in 1993? Thanks for any info you may have regarding this. My best guess is that the Supra was built on the same platform as the Lexus Soarer – which has dual exhaust – but that Toyota did not bother to remove the heat shields and brackets… I've yet to find any information online to back this, however. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks!
jamesmark
The stock exhaust had a diamond configuration, twin pipes leading into a single back box.

Guest alex101
Well, Wikipedia mentions that the Lexus SC400/Toyota Soarer and the Toyota Supra MKIV are on the same platform.

The exhaust that I have on mine is aftermarket, could that be the reason why this configuration is not present?
