Download Festival

SupraStar 3000

Recommended Posts

Hopefully going, line up is excellent this year, only thing that would make it perfect would be metallica headlining. Download organisers must have been beaten to them by the Sonisphere organisers.

Tickets were going for ridiculous prices on ebay last week, I'm hoping they will drop as the festival nears. If all else fails I'll just drive down and hopefully get tickets from genuine festival goers with a spare ticket and not touts.

Unless anyone on here knows of any tickets going for a reasonable price? ;)

I'd like to think that you couldn't pay me enough money to go and watch the kinds of bands that associate themselves with events like this.

If you'd like to test my theory by donating cash in multiples of £10 we'll see at what level I turn into a hypocrite.

I'm going but didnt fancy camping (or rather leaving the Supra in the campsite car park) so staying at the Holiday Inn near the airport!

Not exactly festival spirit but meh lol

We will be going home each night! Caroline does not drink and it's only a couple of mins drive. Means I can still have a few too.

  • 2 weeks later...

To those that went, did you all survive and enjoy yourselves?

I thought it was excellent and will be going next year.

Every band (except Manson) really gave it all and a great atmosphere too

hah hah, and the crowd was ace,.. if not a little quirky!

For once, I didn't feel like the biggest idiot in the village LOL

IOW was good too, if the crowd were a little more leary than your average festival goers...

I blame their 'no fires and no drugs policy'. Whatever next? no music?

Pixies/Maccabees/Prodigy/Maximo all did it for me this weekend :)

Glad you had a good one too Ed... what were your highlights?

Lucha Britannia, 1/2 naked ladies and boob flashers. :D

No, seriously mate, ... Prodigy, Pendulum, SlipKnot, Devil Driver, Five finger Death Punch, Korn, Staind all sounded great.

Shame about the turds in socks flying about tho LOL about the volume seemed very quiet compared to other gigs.

Well, got my tickets when they released the extra 1200 tickets nine days before the festival :)

Highlights:

Slipknot, koRn, Dragonforce(and their beer nurses;)) motley crew, Pendulum and village "bell" & "end" tents:D

Lowlights:

Manson seem like he didn't want to be there and it showed:(

Managing too stay sunburn free until the drive home!

Scorching weather all weekend, with a tiny bit of rain last night to send everyone to their tents at a reasonable time and stop lighting fires.

All in all, an excellent download.

I had a really good time. Faith No More were the highlight of the weekend for me. Hatebreed, God Forbid, Opeth and Meshuggah were also brilliant.

I hope next year they include a few more death metal bands like Suffocation,Cryptopsy, Obituary etc...

I'm off to Hellfest in Clisson, France on the 18th. Hopefully that should be just as good.

Lawnmower Deth and Steel Panther brought some decent banter for me!

As for Manson, that guy really needs to lay off the coke. Saw him a few years back at Wembley Arena and he was awesome, but both times he's played download have been a waste of time.

Anyone get attacked by wasps on the 2nd stage?

I went there when it used to be Ozzfest; in 2001. Was totally awesome and was the first time I saw Tool, which was pretty damn cool.

I'm not a fan of those bottle fights... one of my friends god a glass bottle on the eyebrow which then bled everywhere! That was during mushroomhead.

Cheers Animal! I have been to Satan's Hollow a few times :)

There's a high chance I am going to a BBQ on Sunday night, but if not - I'll check this out. Thanks for the info!

I dont mind them, as long as they stick to plastis bottles lol

Remember a few years ago in the bottle fight before Metallica @ Download, someone was throwing those huge gallon bottles filled with rocks.

That wasn't fun!
