Animal
Have a look for the Tokyo Speedway DVD's. They were made about the Midnight Club and the illegal street racing scene in the 80's. I got them a while ago; they're a bit cheesy, but some good chase scenes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuto_Kousoku_Trial

hogmaw
Good post. Some interesting quotes from one of the Mid Night Club members and his 186mph 600bhp 1978(!) 280zx and accompanying article: "Hiro does not have any interest in the specifications. He only has an interest in how fast it is. Also, he believes that proper tuning and the perfect fuel management setup is much more important than the sum of the parts." and "The cars at the Tokyo Auto Salon do not impress me," the Z's owner remarked with a nonchalant tone. "No matter how much horsepower they make, these (Auto Salon) cars will never impress me unless they are driven. Cars are meant to be driven." Take a close look at the front end of this Z - it shamelessly wears its battle scars with pride. Not only is this car driven, it is driven mercilessly." benkei
I covered the Wangan racing in an essay I did for Uni last year (some of you may remember my questionnaire) Really interesting stuff. Wiki has a fair bit of info, just follow the links it provides onto similar subjects and there is info relating to it on them too. I did a lot of research into it, really want to see the Freeway Speedway DVDs too... They're hard to find!

Did you do any research on the Mid night club around from 85-99 They had an accident and disbanded which is what they said they would do if an accident ever happened.
