Andy-No-Knee
Hi mate, I have a Soarer that I have modded. http://www.soarerworld.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=19 Follow the link to the Soarer website with my garage showing my car. I'm in the process of doing more to it. That website has loads of info on there. The weakest point is the autobox for modding, but if you do the required mods to it as well then it should be fine with big(ish) power (I'm on 375 rwhp with more to come). bodilx6
The 1JZ is a very very nice engine. Sooo smooth compared to the 2JZ thats a bit of a heavy lump. The 1JZ is good for 550-600 on stock internals as far as I know. I haven't messed with it personally but a friend had a stock MKIII 1JZ and that was NICE. Pulled ever so smoothly with a very very different (almost non existant) sound compared to both the 2JZ and the 7M (not that there is anything wrong with them). I've heard that a typical way of tuning the 1JZ is to use the head from a 2JZ resulting in kind of a 1.5JZ. This setup should be very good and rev friendly and in many ways superiour to both the stock 1JZ and even the 2JZ. I think you can find more info on the 1JZ on supraforums.com
garethr
There are quite a few modded Soarers in Australia, so it's worth looking at the Aussie forums as well: Australian Lexus Soarer Club Forum Soarer Central Forum
Swampy442
As said the stock internals will handle 500hp, the stock turbos will never get anywhere near that. I had a Soarer with 385hp on stock twins. Ill have a Soarer for sale soon lol
