Matt H
I've been told you can send money on paypal under the gift option with no charges. So why when i choose gift does it gives me the option of me paying the fee or the reciepient paying the fee?!
Al Massey
Because someone has to pay a fee to paypal. If you go throug personal on paypal it automatically charges you not the person you are sending the money too
martini
Because paypal isn't a free service. Usually, if sending a gift payment, the sender of the money takes the fee; hence the person asking for the money asking for it to be sent in this manner. AlexM
There used to be no fee for using the 'gift' option, but it was getting heavily abused..
Matt H
There used to be no fee for using the 'gift' option, but it was getting heavily abused.. Thank you So it no longer exists. Can't paypal see that the reason it was getting abused is because they provide a rip off service and therefore not one person would care about taking advantage of this "free" loop. jamesmark
Is it not because you possibly use a credit card as a payment option? When did it change as I only used it a couple of weeks ago.
NeoFuture
paypal fees are stupid on £4 i was only getting £3.60 on each transaction
Scott
I don't get charged any paypal fee's. I do it by going to personal then "personal payment owed". I've done it a few times without any hassles. I THINK you need to have your bank account registered though.
bigcol
basically Matt because paypal are dirty scamming ba$tards who put money on hold for no reason, a lot of "decent" folk would put the payment through as a gift instead of a purchase or an ebay purchase, you still have to pay them a fee but if you try and send too much there is a 80% chance the tossers will put the "payment on hold " (in their high interest account) and basically say its their money laundering policy and you have to prove you are not trying to launder it (even for stupid amounts like £5-600)
