The games you wish they would make.

You say that but they have simply bought the best developer from nintendo and disbanded it. I.e. removing any competition ninendo were likely to pose.

Like they did with Square to remove final fantasy from being playstation exclusive

I see where you're coming from, but this isn't a one product wins all race Like Windows Vs Linux etc. A Console is only as good as it's games. Additionally, Kameo, Banjo and Conker were indevelopment before X-Box time and they turned out pants. Perfect Dark Zero was average. It should have been godly.

Rare are an X-Box only firm now, so it doesn't make sense that a company that could potentially turn the tide for X-Box and get them from the bottom of the sales table would be dispanded.

Totally not with you there. I believe Microsoft bought the Label, but failed to aquire the developers such as Mr Doak who made rare what they were.

I'm of the opinion with Sonic, that his very nature as a character makes him a no-goer for modern games. He's all about speed, you just can't utilise that in a 3D environment.

But if you slow him down, you might as well not make it a sonic game.

Why does he have to be 3D? 2D Sonic with gorgeous sprites would be amazing, but they wont make it. Kids want 3D.

Only @ the end of page 1 but would like to pull up these two;

Syndicate Wars - Syndicate Wars was the second installment from the original Syndicate. It failed, badly :(

Speedball - Speedball 2008 I think its called? Another one that ended up on the fail pile :(

But it wouldn't be though, while 2d entertained us no end back in the day, it doesn't cut the mustard nowadays. It just wouldn't be fun. We have greater expectations now, and wouldn't find a remake of Sonic, which wasn't exactly a series of the best games ever made, in lush graphics entertaining.

Games are expected to be longer and endless leves of more sonic rehash would, unfortueanatly for the francise, be average to poor at best.

If a developer put a lot of effort into recreating the scenes from:

Dawn of the dead

into a really vast playable, game true to the film that would be ace..

Bonus round would be picking out the zombies that look like celebrities from the crowd of them below just like the film when the group is communicating with the gun shop owner over the roof tops with chalk boards!! :D

Dead Rising?

my mrs goes nuts now because i play wow and eve online any more than that and i swear she would slit my throat

Thread hijack: What's your character on Eve online? There's a load of us on here play it and myself, Jive and MrAngry are in the same corp. I'm Juan Chan :D Give us a shout sometime.

Edit to add back on topic: A rawer version of Command and Conquer that was closer to the feel of the original game would be good.

The first cannon fodder for sure. I remember the button bashing action on the Amiga many, many years ago - fantastic. I used to sit there with my old mate and play this for hours. The crazy vehicle jumps and stuff like that were brill.

Jools & Jops - the first and best two characters!

A new Paradroid would be good. Maybe Uridium in 3D too. I also find it hard to believe that no-one has mentioned Stunt Car Racer.

Y'all are too nu-skool.

I'm only 27 but I remember Stunt Car Racer, the horrible crunching sounds the car would make after it landed make me shudder still now. The roller coast esq tracks were awesome though.

Feh Uridium. SWIV and R-Type were better. Or Battle 1942 maybe? You should look at Geometry Wars on the 360. May cause epilepsy though.

Ahhh Cannon Fodder. Anyone got a copy of the Sensible Soccer WW1/2 make they did where you played with a grenade and if you were skilled enough you could blow up the goalie? I think it came with Amiga Power one month

The other month I bought a SNES just to play Rock 'n' Roll racing again.

Thinking really hard I came up with the following list.

1) TEKWAR2

2) Unknown game 2

3) Unknown game 3

4) Unknown game 4

I also wish with all my heart that I never have the time or inclination to sit down and play these games.

Those 3 are too new, they will very much likely be made. I was refering to the stuff that has been on the shelf for ages, with no likely sequel :)

Ahh, ok.

Earthworm Jim 2:d

Used to love that on the SNES, along with Donkey Kong

Yes my man!! Earthworm Jim has just been released on the Wii Virtual Console!!! :woohoo:

Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 are up there in my best games ever made, altough when Rare made Donkey Kong 64 they severley messed it up..

Not sure how a donkey Kong Country would fair now unfortuneatly :( would love to see is. Perhaps with an additional original 3 DKC games with uprated graphics thrown in the budnle for good measure
