Saturday 4th July 2009

Calling all petrol heads!!!

Whether your into the Jap, Euro , Exotic or American this tunnel run is for you.

This tunnel run aims to be the biggest and longest run to date. The run will consist of 5 different tunnels with 7 chances to get the noise bouncing off the tunnel walls.

The run will start at 12 midnight on Saturday 4th July in London, the run will be across 20 miles of London's finest and all the tunnels in between. There is no limit at present to the amount of cars that can attend as the bigger the crowds the more noise will be made.

Route information will become available nearer to the date in two forms. This will include Tomtom data files and Google route planner information. So please keep checking back.

To confirm your attendance for this Tunnel run please complete the application form below or email the below information to [email protected]

- First and Last name of driver

- Number of occupants in car

- Type of Car

- Screen name (s)of any Club/forum you and your passengers belong to including the name of the forum/club (s)

The attendance list will be updated on a weekly basis for the duration leading up to the event and can be accessed on the above link.

Please spread the word and link as many forums and websites back to this page . The more awareness that can be raised the larger and louder the event will be!

Lets start a list :D

Ok people was thinking about meeting at Lakeside Services at 10 for latest 10:30 leave and all convoy together to the starting point of South Carriage Drive (Exhibition Road End), Hyde Park which we need to be @ 11.00pm for 12Midnight Start.

For those that want it I will be bringing about 10 printouts of the rute details which i can handout either at lakeside or hydepark

The route has been produced to perfectly mirror the Tomtom route so anyone without the use of a satnav or the tomtom files can still follow the run without getting lost in London,

For those of you that want to print your own sheets &/or SatNav Files

here's the link : http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sa...07617&t=h&z=12

Download & Use Instructions:

TomTom Route Download Link : http://www.bjrally.com/tom_tom.zip

The Tomtom files that can be downloaded and may work on other Satnav devices, these files once downloaded onto your Tomtom will automatically plot the tunnel run route on your Tomtom so you wont get lost. If you are unsure of how to upload these files to your Tomtom there is a small brief explaining how to setup your Tomtom.

Unfortunately due to the large amount of different satnavs these satnav files may not work on every satnav

After downloading the route file (.itn type) to your computer, connect your device (or memory card) to your computer and copy the file to the itn folder on your memory card. If no itn folder exists, you can easily create one. On your TomTom, select Itinerary planning from the main menu and a folder named itn will be created automatically.

Cross-border routes may require you to switch maps. If your maps are on different memory cards, copy the .itn file to both cards. If any of the waypoints on your route are outside the active map, they will be shown crossed out.

To start navigating, go to Itinerary planning on your TomTom. Select Options, Load itinerary, select the file you just copied and select Done. Generally, using the shortest route-calculation will give you the best results. However, when you want to avoid motorways or optimize a route for cycling or walking this is usually possible as well.

Any issues or questons feel free to PM me or call me on 07940733953

see you all there

Hmmmm, a newbie effectively trying to scrape data like that? surprised you haven't asked for the reg plate? It sounds very much like you are collecting information for some nefarious goal... Why do you need screen names of passengers? Call me paranoid but it sounds VERY much like a sting operation if not for immediate use but at a later stage perhaps....
