Guest Clunsey
Hi, I have a 1998 Supra TT VVTi Tiptronic J-Spec. The car is standard apart from a Veilside exhaust and a Walbro 255 fuel pump. My query is I want to fit a vent to atmosphere BOV, I have heard so many conflicting story's as to whether this is possible and how to do it that I would love to here some feedback. Is anyone else running BOV on the same model car? Thanks
jacko
Just replace the standard recirc valve with an atmospheric one and block up the recirc pipe

Thanks I have the exact same car, i have not had any problems at all, but they say that you should not vent to atmosphere running a mass air flow meter, could cause car to run slightly rich for a short time, afm measures air in to adjust fueling but on overun some air is vented, but still puts in fuel, only until the throttle pedal is backed right off the injectors are cut if above 1500 rpm approx, in my opinion do it Edited May 26, 2009 by chrispot anutter speling misstake (see edit history)

Scott
i thought any model with a maf meter, i thought that all vvti supras have maf meter like uk models, Ooooo, do they? Didn't know that. Your right though, all cars have that issue with MAF's and dump valves. I had the same problem with my Rev2 MR2. The MR2 does not run right at all though, pig rich at times. From what i have seen on here people running BOV's with UK spec supras don't have THAT much hassle. Maybe a little rich but thats about it.
