tooquicktostop
Taking my daughter to see this today (well for me really !) has anyone been before, where is the best place to stand
SILKYSMOOTH
I went last year buddy, and the year before....I found that the best place to stand was near where the anncouncer was....most of the aircraft that are able to hover would normally aim for this area and move about from side to side.... Take a seat on the gravel/sand and just watch the show. Have a nice day and try not to get sucked in to all the gimicks and expensive treats.... MrRalphMan
I haven't seen the docco's, but I'm with you that they are a nice scam. Maybe I should have stuck a couple of smilies around that.

Here's todays programme.... http://www.southendairshow.com/index.asp?c=1844 Luckily you can't see the red arrows' flying suits from the ground! A few weeks ago in Cyprus I came pretty close to stealing 'Red 2's' Red Display flying suit! His name is Dave Davies if anyone is interested! Haha, there are pictures. ... unfortunately he got it back in the end I was gutted.

I remember once they flew above my flats in Limasol along the seafront when I was out there, I was on the top floor, it sounded absolutely out of this world!!! I thought it was an earthquake or something and the view I had was superb You can get to meet all the pilots at the Southend Airshow and get their autographs etc and have a chat which them which is good. Sure I met all of them.... They also have a replica to sit in which is identical to the real thing! got pics too..

Mind you, I'd probably be if I was a Red Arrows display pilot. ... and I was drunk, very very drunk. I got busted stealing a 2nd one, and had to give them back (long story!) Did consider doing a runner but it was a tad complicated!!!
