Kirk
Right guys, all cosmetics are done now! heres the finished lenses and surrounds! They came out beautifully! pictures dont do them much justice! its a shame i couldnt save the rings though and i might end up painting the shiny piece below the low beam projector, i dunno yet though. I am gutted though about the drivers side lense, was hoping the heat spot would be less visable but unfortunatly not its not noticable until you get it into direct light. Idealy i could use another set of headlamps which are fully intact, all mounting points etc. Anyone got a spare set?? Next thing to do is begin the retrofit. Hopefully the projectors and ballasts should arrive this week Edited May 27, 2009 by Kirk (see edit history)

T2 MSW
Look spot on. I need to get my plastic covers redone. I used 1500 last time and they yellowed up quite quickly. perhaps go down to 2500 this time.
Kirk
i suppose you could yeah, i prefer to flat all the yellow out of it then seal it with laquer, prevents it happening again
T2 MSW
and these ones you have just gone down to 1500 right?
Kirk
i acualy finished them with 1200, then before laquer 3000 them and end up with a smooth finish, its like glass

Kirk
you only need to clear the outside of the lense if you do so mike, just polish insides up a bit cant wait to see the old gal next month!

Its the insides of mine that have yellowed from where its been done before so Ill have to do both sides
Kirk
oh dear... the j specs in this thread were yellowed, but bare in mind if 1 is cleared then it will be very unlikely to re yellow due to the UV protection properties in the clear
martini
Is it the outside or inside that yellows most? i.e. could a bit of gentle sanding on the outside of mine sparkle them up a bit?
Kirk
outside is usualy the main issue, once they yellow the inners start to yellow. You can sand them back and polish them up but they will eventualy yellow again

HID retro is on it way once i track down some cheap s2k headlamps or accord headlamps believe me the results are so much better than these P n P kits
martini
Sounds good mate. Might sound like a dumb question, but which paint did you use to do the inside parts black? It looks great. I can imagine my dash having a touch-up with that.
