supraspeed
OK, so i'm up for renewal quote using sky, on my (now sold) single supe (£1200 fc inc mods 2 yrs no claims bonus) and i went in last month for a quote for straight swap my car with an auto tt with few mods. they said would make no difference if i swapped it over. unfortunatly i didn't sell my car till last week so never got the tt, but my policy ends in next few weeks so SKY said it would be fine to just let it run out so i could get my 3yrs n c bonus, they get my last instalment, everyone wins. Now i phoned up today and just wanted to know if that quote still stood and how much of a DISCOUNT i would get after 3yrs no claims, on a TT. First the women says " we dont insure under 25's on these cars" (i'm 23) So straight away she's lying, so i correct her and also mention that SKY is the leading insurer on the supra site and loads of under 25's are insured. Next she goes through more details about my policy.....which she already has on the database anyway . She talks to the underwriters and comes back saying mu quote would be £2400 !!!! Of course i'm rather amazed at this and ask her why the hell would it go up £1200 when i'm, 1- already a existing customer (with discount) 2- have got another years no claims WITH THEM on a Single supe with a much lower premium. 3- A proved record of fast cars under other insurers (allowing discount as well) She said something about the monthly renewal quotes hadn't come through and to wait til next week to phone back! like thats gonna change anything i said to her and she bascially told me thats their best quote!!! i got quoted the same amount on my current policy with 2 years no claims two months ago on the same fu**ing car! Told her something aint right and now fuming at sky! VERY ANGRY!!! rant over
Todd
Sad but true, always speak to one of the main guys at Sky. Drop them a PM through here and ask for a call back.

Pig
Im with admiral on multi car policy £350 for my supra for year and £100 on a seat 1.6 cordova....cant complain at that! But you are not properly covered. If you had an accident they would not pay for your kit. They would only pay for the price to repair a standard car. Therefore you might as well have 3rd party. Todd
Im with admiral on multi car policy £350 for my supra For a modified car like yours What the hell happens if you are in an accident as they will only replace stock parts?

supraspeed
Supraspeed, Has the price gone up because of the accident you had last year? No i paid for it myself. insurance wasn't involved. (my dad stupidly put it on his work policy with TPTF only) so i was pretty screwed. no excuse for that quote though

Guy on phone said if the cost to repair was gonna be less the equivilant of putting it back to stock then they would look at it due to nature of car. I made them note on policy that each panel was replaced so they were aware. To be honest if i crashed my car under any policy i'd be stuffed! And 3rd party gives you nothing if you crash, if i crash mine its likely to be written off as Cat D and then get some money back for the car. So bit better then having 3rd party

But just having had an accident, regardless of whether you made a claim, will still put the insurance up, won't it? (Edit to add....) If they know about it, I mean. Whitesupraboy2
But you'll only get the value of a stock supra and considering your car, that's a hell of a risk to take Not that much of a risk when the insurance quote was £700 more from Sky for both cars. And then when its that much more i cant pay in one go, so cost goes up more. within 2 yrs same amount of money will of been saved as extra in value that id get. I dont ever believe anyone would replace like for like with my car. Not at £10,000 for the bodykit alone. I dont drive it anywhere near as much as i use to now i have a 2nd car. So im not worried. AlexJames
Amazing. I hear they're good. I have had BAD experiences with admiral :s http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=160739 But yeah... Chris and Alana
I find sky useless, I have rang 2 years in a row just for a quote, they ask what my cheapest quote so far is and I let them know hoping they will beat it (usually from elephant) and I have not once had a phone call back in the 2 times (2years) I have tried. I even tried ringing them back on occasions but still no return phone call. I wont try them again this year.

Paul
I am still waiting for my ring back a year after the Sky forum member promised he would do so. Bit on the ball aren't they I've been with Bell ever since I owned the Supra, always give very reasonable prices when it comes time to renew. I did go to Sky a few times over the years and they were way out, so much so that I don't bother even phoning them anymore. I only use my Supra every now and then but do realise that with Bell I've got no agreed value etc. and will have to battle with money if ever I had a serious claim but am willing to accept that.
