Cheek Biting

Charlotte

Recommended Posts

I seem to have developed this habit of biting my cheek, on the insides.

I think it's a stress thing but I was trying to remember when I didn't do it and I can't!

Anyway, I randomly started reading up about it and apparently it can lead to mouth cancer? Is that just a load of ballbags?

I'm trying to stop myself doing it now...any suggestions?

i used to do this in my sleep. it got so bad once that i had to take time off work due to it getting infected and swelling up good and proper. was in quite a bit of pain for about a week and found it really had to even eat anything. the problem being that the more you bite your cheek the easier it is to catch it when you are biting normally due to the swelling

I believe it could lead to cancer. As far as i understand it the constant healing of the mouth would be more likely to develop into rogue cells. Cancer is a mutation of cells afterall, that come about during growth.
