No speedo or rev counter

Started my 93 N/A up this morning and all was well with the world, then all of a sudden no speedo, rev counter, temp gauge nothing.

I stopped the car turned it off and restarted and everything worked for 3 minutes then a click from the auto box and all gone again.

Just taken the clocks out and all seems fine, it appears though now no power is being picked up as I have to push the red button to engage drive still no rev counter or speedo as well as no odometre or temp gauge. Is it the convertor at fault as this is the only thing that has been cut into the loom.

Any advice please.

Thanks

I have a blown fuse put another one in and it blew again when I opened the door. Have unplugged all the connectors I can see and had the door panel off, put another fuse in and all appears well again, fingers crossed.

Have not a clue what it was or what I did to rectify.

Thanks

Which fuse did you replace? it should give you an idea where to start...

If the convertor is the only thing in the loom then I'd start having a look around that section, but to loose that many devices indicates a more serious fault, either a major fault or a section of loom has come unplugged.

I will take the panel off tomorrow and let you know which one.

What I found funny was that it blew the fuse when I opened the door, just wondering if some part of the loom has overstretched and shorted, then with me unplugging everything and reconnecting has solved it.

I have had the car running for 10 mins earlier tonight and everything was working, opened and closed the door numerous times and still worked.

I don`t mind any mechanical work but I hate electrics.
