Scott
I don't know if you are misinformed but my 80gb PS3 plays PS1 games without any issues. I think there was a software update a few months back that allowed this. I could check if PS2 games work but i can't be arsed to walk upstairs and get one. Yeah that was the case at the start. Sony did this deliberately so that they could slowly put out the updates. One major selling point is that the 60gb version has the rom chips installed. The 80gb versions can play the earlier games but not all of them, and its software emulation. The 60gb version should be able to play 99% of them and its hardware emulation so it should run even sweeter. Good luck with the sale

The current 80Gb ps3 does NOT play PS2 games and PS1 games. a select few from the beginning of the 80GB do but not many. The 20GB and 60GB are the only ones that will play PS2 games definitely. martini
eBay auctions are a far better judge of worth when it comes to consoles. @ Amazon you can set whatever you want.
Mike
It's worth whatever people want to pay. Good luck with the sale - the backward compatibility of this machine is it's USP I have a stack of PS2 games that are basically useless for 80Gb model
