Guest vandaz
hey im new to the site and having a problem with my supra. no one seems to be able to diagnose the problem evrey time i put my foot down in 3rd 4th 5th or 6th the revs seem to jump up from 2000/2500 to 3000/3500 then hold there or sometimes drop down a couple of hundred then carries on as normal. any ideas on what could be wrong? so far have been told it could be the clutch which is wrong, then got told it was mis firing again wrong then told my coolant is too low and once more that was wrong. please help!!! DamanC
I would have said the clutch.....
Guest vandaz
only happens in certain gears and at a certain rev clutch would be continuous
DamanC
Not necessarily. A good test is stationary pull the handbrake up, and try to pull away. If your revs 'slip' then you probably have a clutch related issue. What is the mileage?
Guest vandaz
done that test, and bout 94000
SimonB
If the clutch is slipping it will tend to do so in higher gears. At the end of the day the only thing with any give between the engine and wheels is the clutch, so that's got to be it if the revs are jumping up.
