Gaz6002
Sad fact is he is now in his 50s even if they did let him out the world has changed so much in 20 years i fear he would reoffened due to being "in another world" Institutionalisation is the word you're looking for, just like in Shawshank Redemption when Brooks hangs himself I know someone who was head Nurse at Broadmoor and she certainly had some stories about Mr Bronson. Scott
Take this with a pinch of salt but i have it on good authority that when asked why he allowed the script of the movie to fly he smiled and rubbed his fingers (money gesture). The stuff with the guards is bollocks too. He has had a couple of altercations but nothing bad.

Back in the 80s If he allowed the film to go ahead for money then he is a fool. He will never get out to spend it!

He has had a couple of altercations but nothing bad. glad someone agrees with me being in the prison service is no joke especially when dealing with nutballs, rapists and paedos especially when you have to treat the real evil ones with "kid gloves" because the "powers that be" have decided that the sick b@stards arnt criminals, they have "problems" and thats one of the reasons i left, prison is prison not a fookin haven holiday and should be used as a punishment and deterrant, take away the in cell tv, the cd players and the "food menu" and make them sleep on the floor and eat just enough to keep them alive, all visits should be on the same idea as the americans and behind 3 inches of glass and talk through a telephone, that would sort the drug problems out and if they decide to have a riot and get on the roof even better fire hose them straight down again on to fookin great metal spikes, if you get 5 years you DO 5 years etc etc hard labour and no namby pamby privilages especially cowardly w@nkers who prey on women, kids, the elderly or any tw@t who carries knives, batons etc and for any loop the loop who is deemed to be a danger to the public, automatic sectioning, do not pass go, go straight to the nuthouse before you hurt someone and live in a drug induced coma for 50 years. He will never get out to spend it! What stuff? Don't believe what you read or have seen on the TV. He was questioned about the validity of his books and thats when he made the money gesture. The guards were pretty pissed off as he made them look like animals as well. He hasn't done half the stuff he gets "credit" for.

The police where bad enough in the 80s i can only imagine what the orderlys in broadmore where like in that time span. Fair play if they put up with his constant attacks and did nothing in return
Scott
I think ripping off a few roof tops whould have earned him a beating or two? Not at all, the only time you will get a proper beating inside is if you dish out a proper beating to the staff. Damaging your cell, the building etc is covered by the government. The guy is a bit strange, and has one hell of a temper, this makes him dangerous to the outside but i think the film touches one very very important point...... you shouldn't be imprisoned for something you could potentially do. He has spent all his years in there for silly crimes in the prison. He DID beat a guy half to death, he did take a guard prisoner (the 2nd time was someone else IIRC) and he did make for the start of the riots. He constantly trashes his cell, other than that he just keeps himself to himself. The main danger with "bronson" is he doesn't threaten, he just reacts. He rarely shouts and never says anything before he lashes out. He is becoming a product of the system though and if he ever does get out will need re-habiltated. bigcol
Are you saying he never got a kicking? in all the time he was inside? no im not saying that at all, im sure he has had a slap or two;) but not to the extent that fanny is making it out to be, if a prisoner assaults a prison officer he is guarenteed to be bent up like a chicken, using only the textbook dcr (dignified control and restraint) as we were taught by the home office as new recruits, and obviously using the textbook "only enough force as neccessary" or "minimum use of force" (the best grey area in the world) or in other words if one of us got assaulted, the offending person would be subjected to wrist, arm, leg and neck locks, dragged to the segregation unit and twatted, and if he continued to be an arse he got twatted again:innocent: and the officer who was assaulted would usually have 5 or 6 weeks paid sick leave and a little compensation payout. whilst the offender would have at least 28 days added onto his release date, be kept in solitary and have his privilages removed. or he would be charged by the police depending on how serious it was. but its probably changed now with our society and all you get is your tv taken away for a day or something. anyway my point is if anyone thinks that that movie is ANYTHING like the truth then im sorry to disappoint you its at least 75% made up shite
