URGENT: 2JZ-GE non-turbo camshafts in a VVTi 2JZ-GTE head

Dear guys,

We are doing a custom map and we want the better duration of the non-turbo 2JZ-GE camshafts, and plan to mount such a set on the VVTi 2JZ-GTE twin-turbo head. We are ditching the VVTi system. Do the non-turbo camshafts physically fit the VVTi head?

I know the non-VVTI GTE camshafts fit the VVTi head if you carve out a minor slot, but essentially what I am asking is whether the non-turbo GE camshafts differ from the turbo non-VVTi GTE camshafts.

All answers appreciated - thanks in advance!

I have got a set of ge cams in the shed, if you want me to go take some measurements.

I'm still a little unsure why you would want to use the ge cams though, it surely would make more sense to use an aftermarket gte cam with a suitable profile. Loosing the vvti I can understand to make it easier to map and all that BUT wouldn't recommend it.

I know the GE and GTE heads are different with regards exhaust ports, does this perhaps also translate to valve positions in which case the ge cams wouldn't fit anyway.

Actually we ended up using the stock VVTi system. The latest Autronic SM4 firmware is compatible with the VVTi solenoid. Results: 455 whp and over 600nm at the wheels and a very healthy midrange torque graph. Injectors are maxed though, running 4.5 bar fuel pressure and 94% duty cycle (stock grey 2JZ non-VVTi injectors).

On topic: I noticed the twin turbo ex cams have the distributor key in them - surely they would fit the GE head?
