Dave17
Your saying you want your turbo to produce boost on idle? Or are you saying the turbine doesnt spin at all even when turned off?
Tricky-Ricky
My GT4088 doesn't spin on cold start, but once hot it will spin slowly, i would say its nothing to worry about, unless you have a lot of play of course.
RobSheffield
It probably wont start spinning til about 6000rpm, then punt you into the bushes, i wouldnt worry about it.
Homer
All turbo's I've seen spin pretty darn quick when the car is idling, maybe because it's big old tractor technology it's just to darn large to get any movement on idle? Seems pretty odd though.
Rich
My old T78 span on idle,so yours should!
Dave222
So does mine, doesn't produce any pressure but should turn at tickover.

Alex
With the engine off, spin it with your finger, it should move relatively easily although not frictionlessly. If it doesn't chances are it's in need of a rebuild. The other thing to do is get someone to step on the accelerator and rev the engine whilst you watch the compressor. If it doesn't budge with a few '000 rpm through it then it's deffo buggered.
Guest okley_78
its feel full normal when im spin it whit my finger .and as qickly im give the engine very lite rpm its start to spinn
Rich
Pull the oil feed to the turbo off and crank the engine with the ignitor pack disconnected.Do this to make sure you are actually getting an oil supply to the turbo.
Alex
its feel full normal when im spin it whit my finger .and as qickly im give the engine very lite rpm its start to spinn How much use has the car had? It may just need a low speed run around - getting fully warm etc to circulate some oil.
TLicense
As has been said, get the engine up to temperature then whilst watching the compressor blades give the engine a blip. It should start spinning at some point. Watch it as it slows down, it should slow quite smoothly. If it suddenly just stops then it will need a rebuild.
