Hi all, :banghead:

I have noticed a rattle coming from my gearbox area recently, now i had the car up on stands and had a good look around only to find a loose metal clip connected to the reverse sensor wire. I got rid of that thinking it would solve the problem...... nope! :(

Its a very tinny rattle, sounds like a spring rattling around inside the clutch housing if you ask me! Could it have lost a spring from the clutch plate or something? I know its had a exedy clutch fitted at somepoint but whether it was done properly or not is another thing!

The sound comes and goes, one minute it not there, the next its drowning out the noise from my exhaust! lol

any help would be great!

Thanks, Nick

Nope it does it regardless of the clutch being in engaged or not, its more of a resonating rattle as it happens when i put the foot down in a high gear and EVERYTIME i go round a roundabout it starts.... this is sooo annoying it sounds like a tamboreen lol

i just dont understand why one minute its there and the next there isnt any rattle at all!

This woudnt be the lightened flywheel kind of noise would it?

im changing my clutch back to standard anyway cause i drive daily and cant deal with the "on or off" type of clutch lol

The rattle isnt there at idle though, so im very confused....

it happens when i change gear mostly so im hoping a new clutch will sort it out,

when its rattling i shift into neutral to see if it stops but it doesnt!

ahhh WTF!!! lol

SORTED!! it turned out to be the little guard around where the driveshaft enters the gearbox, stupid thing was just loose!
