Guest llewelyn Posted May 12, 2009 Share Posted May 12, 2009 ok replacing clutch myself all stripped down just two questions on an 93 manual non turbo pilot bearing inside flywheel correct? and how would i replace this with out right tool? Remove it by packing a load of grease into it, then you will need to find something that will fit into it nicely, maybe a ratchet extension bar! Tap it in, the grease should compress and push the bearing out. You may need a fair amount of grease! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Andy Blyth Posted December 20, 2009 Share Posted December 20, 2009 Just want to add: a 3/8" extension bar is just too big to fit in the inner race of the bearing. However, the pin that fits into the clutch release fork (once cleaned up!) on a 6-speed is just right for the job. Takes a while to get all the air out of the cavity behind the bearing but once it's purged, the bearing pops right out with a gentle tap. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
