Engine Tilt Degree

some keep saying its a problem, however if i did do it then TRUST ME it would be fine as long as the spring mounts were matched to the tild degree. however im not doing that now lol. found a way to mount up on the block that i so blindly missed

right lets clear this up.

a car engine (lets say the jza80) tilts to a maximum of 4 degrees on the standard mounts. therefore if you mount the supercharger to the body it will eventualy snap the belt, or even the SC head. now, if you make spring mounts for the SC attached to the body, the spring takes up 9 degrees of movement in all directions, therefore with that and the adjuster taking it all up you would NOT have a problem guaranteed (if fitted correctly).

i am not fitting it to the body now i am fitting it to the block, i am ALSO heat wrapping the exhaust with 1200 degree temp wrap, i used this stuff also in the army and trust me it works. that will keep the heat away from the charger, and then the intercooler will do the rest.

It wouldn't work like that though, the engine moves and vibrate when not under load or under light load (e.g. breaking traction in 1st gear will oscilate the engine quick side to side, it'd lose tension and spring off. I cannot understand how you would have ever got this to work, unless using solid engine mounts, even then it'd be a risk.

But as you're doing things the right way now it's a bit of a moot point.

Exactly! just a few of the fairly obvious reasons that i commented on in your other post, i admire your enthusiasm, but i think you need to give it some more thought and sound engineering practise.

Even with the spring/shock mountings apart from what Homer has mentioned, the very fact that it can move in all directions is going to give you very iffy drive, and you will constantly suffer from belt slip.

Anyway I'm glad you have found a way to mount it to the block, i hope the link gave you some good ideas, as the guy who is doing the build know his stuff;)
