Guest fj supra
Hi i am new to the supra scene i just got my swap done and i am looking to upgrade my turbos , (from twin to single turbo) , i was looking at the Precision Turbo T67 Turbocharger , but when i went to the site i couldnt understand : http://www.boostlogic.com/xcart/product.php?productid=11 Whats the differance ?? Compressor Cover (Choose E or S Cover ) Exhuast Housing And i am looking for power but not so much that it makes the car spin when ever i go near the pedal . Homer
I am fairly certain it relates to the compressor ratio. Nearly everyone here uses the 0.70 compression ratio (which is marked as an E cover) which gives the best street use for this turbo. Make sure you go for then dbb version over the journal, they spool much faster when combined with the 0.68 exhaust housing, almost the same as the small T61 turbo but with greater high end power. imi
check out the ECU register (thread starter by WEZ), should give you an idea about what turbo to go for (quick spool, high power, torque, etc) - not to mention the ECU, etc.
Guest fj supra
Thanks for your input but do I need a proper tune ? and if I do... do I need a stand alone or a piggy back
Homer
Thanks for your input but do I need a proper tune ? and if I do... do I need a stand alone or a piggy back I am not sure what you mean by "a proper tune", can you clarify? It will need aftermarket injectors, fuel pump, ECU (whether it's a high spec piggyback or standalone you need to weight up), plus all the other things that are needed for this the conversion. What gearbox and diff do you have fitted?

Close, but no cigar. The E and S relate to the type of compressor cover. The E has a 3inch inlet and 2inch outlet. The S has a 4 inch inlet and 2.5inch outlet. The H has a 4 inch inlet and 3 inch outlet. For some reason that I've never quite understood most people seem to go for the S which I think is a bit daft because you then have to step up from 2.5 to 3 inch to connect up to the intercooler pipework. I have a H type. The different covers do have slightly different A/R ratios too, but that's also because of what the A/R actually means. It's the ratio of the area of the inlet (for exhaust housings) or outlet (for compressor housings) to the radius of the housing. So if you have a 3inch outlet instead of a 2.5inch you will obviously change the A/R.
Guest fj supra
Well i had the 2JZ-GTE engine swapped into a Fj70 so the gear box stayed the same as for the diff i am looking into changing it .... yeah sure if i am going single turbo i am going to get the whole package ( manifold , injectors and a Tune , i already have a upgraded fuel pump) By proper tune i meant that should i get a stand alone like AEM or motec , But i am looking into the Apexi Power FC also if i go with the T67 what size injectors do i need ?
