Ouija Board

not that it could really be thousands of years ago, if it was Christianity

Talking about dates etc, I've read that christianity can be traced back 6000 years. (4000bc). But when i read about Scientology when it came a big thing with Tom Cruise getting involved, i was suprised to read that it can only be traced back 60 years as it was started the 1950's.

Keep well away from Ouija boards.

I know two people that have bad experiences.

The guy I work with gave a similar description on how it moved about.

At one point they all agreed to let go at the same point, but as they did the pointer jumped off the board and went flying across the room.

A Ouija Board also predicted a death in the family to within a month.

Ouija is a trademark of Parker Brothers

You know, the same people who make and sell Monopoly, Cluedo.. and Bop it!! :D

:rlol:

I wonder what cut the demons get from the sale of each Ouija board. They must be inline for at least 50% because after all they have to provide the after market service ;) :D

I thought it was 2,009 years old, give or take. I see Christianity as the teachings of Jesus as conveyed through the gospels. Willing to be corrected, though.

Yeah, as Trev says, it was L. Ron Hubbard. I have nothing to say about Scientology for fear of having my ass sued, so here's an irrelevant nursery rhyme instead:

Old Mother Hubbard

Went to the cupboard

To get her poor doggy a bone

When she bent over

Old Rover took over

And gave her a bone of his own.

Yep pretty much, the New Testament is the teachings of Jesus, the old testament is all about the lead up to Jesus :) Its all about the man :innocent:

I'm not saying that it is 6k years old, just something i read.

I suppose it's what can be classed as Christianity. If it did exist in some way back then it obviously wouldn't have been called Christianity, but then again, today’s Christianity is much different in the way that it was preached and practiced all that time ago but it’s still Christianity, albeit we were / are all reading from the same book!

It's old news though isn't it? All centred around worshipping the sun, the star in the east, the three kings, 12 disciples, 25th December, 3 day resurrection etc.

It's all been worshipped before, over 6000 years ago. It just wasn't called Christianity.

its all becoming clear now, like i've seen the light.....

You see I once bought a bucket seat from Demon Tweeks and ended up driving like a man possessed.............

..............redemption from eternal damnation came from an angel (in this instance he projected himself in the form of a traffic policeman) whom steered me away from the devil (and onto the hard shoulder) and exorcised me by a mild slap on the wrist and fixed penalty notice.

Yeah, but none of that stuff is the central message of Jesus' teachings, surely? It's just the trappings.

I'm not a Christian, so I'm on shaky ground here, but I'd say the central themes are:

1. One God (but three aspects - something that the early church spent enormous effort trying to resolve)

2. New covenant between man and God. Jesus suffers for the sins of man, so man can start again, free from original sin.

3. Gentle and forgiving New Testament God, not veangeful and terrifying Old Testament God.

4. Redemption. No human being is too awful to be forgiven and to move on (the central theme of the opera, er, Tannhauser)

5. Redemption and reconciliation with God operates via Jesus.

6. The love of worldly goods is not where it's at.

7. The kingdom of heaven isn't going to be a rich boy's playground and material success means nothing to God- in fact the poor, downtrodden and humble a=will be right there with you andon an equal footing.

We didnt buy a board, so Satan got no cut from our sale. Just cut small squares of paper and put a letter of the alphabet on each, and 4 more with yes, no, enter and exit. Didnt even have any numbers written down.

That's why you got the effects you did, then. The glass was moved by the spirit of George Parker, founder of the company:

"W-H-Y D-I-D-N-T Y-O-U B-U-Y A B-O-A-R-D ?"

Trappings fundamental to the teachings though, surely? They lack credibility, and hence the teachings do. IMHO of course, not wanting to ruffle feathers. To me it's akin to religiously following Big Brother.

For me it's easier to subscribe to things I can relate to. The whole jesus/god thing is so riddled with inaccuracies it's laughable.

As for "His" message: well, I think people are quick to confuse morals with religion.

Perhaps you could get a spirit to move a clay bar around a bonnet? Free labour and all that. :)

Having sat quietly in the wings and read everything I can conclude its all bollox.

I cannot find any proof in anything anyone has said that shows that a Ouija Board is anything other than a bit of wishful thinking and kidology rolled into a good parlour game.
