Rinus
Hello, like to put drag slicks on the car, for up coming events in Holland. Ive got the uk brakes, the smallest rim I can fit is 17inch? I'm afraid 16 will not fit, cause Iwill not change my rear brakes. Im thinking of getting 2 stock rear rims offset 50, but how wide tyre can I put on the rim so it will fit in the fender, or do I have to change the offset to then.. I rolled the fenders and got adjustable shocks... also any advice what the best tyre hight will be? thanks
Rinus
Anyone who is killing the strip with slicks??
Homer
Could be wrong on this, but I think the stock 16's fit over the larger stock brakes, it's the fronts that have an issue. However, if you're serious about this you could get some proper drag wheels, like the ones here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=2352517&postcount=1777 Those are for Jamies car which has the massive Brembo monoblock brake system, so I'm sure they'd fit over the stock setup. Rinus
Could not get hold of 9j rims today, but I've tried 16" 8j supra wheels on the rear and they don't fit cause they hit the caliper, I wonder if the 9j wil fit, cause its same offset only 1j wider and I believe the rear 16's got a little dish so the inside of the wheel is almost the same... will try it though. Maybe on 17" then, m&h drag radials 2755017 but prefere 2755516:D
JamieP
Those are for Jamies car which has the massive Brembo monoblock brake system, so I'm sure they'd fit over the stock setup. My drag wheels are 15" and will require me fitting j-spec rear brakes when running them wheels.
Rinus
Tomorrow I will try 9j/16", hope it will fit, then these tyres must do the job; http://www.mh-racemaster.be/product-detail.php?productID=57&typeID=
Rinus
Oem supra wheels 16inch 9j doesn't fit at the rear, the get stuck on the caliper. If you use a 1inch spacer then it will fit, but you also must roll the fenders. Cause big dragslicks will rub the fender, will stay with 17inch for now
