clarky666
Hi folks, Just safely got home with my new Supra and a grin as wide as a cheshire cat Couple of minor niggles (hopefully no more than that) which i was aware about when i got the car. Firstly the head lights seem to stay on even when the stalk is switched to off and the car is switches off and locked. Bit of jiggery pokery and they went off......ala shaking the steering column gently. Wasn't leaving anything to chance so i removed both the LH and RH fuse for overnight just incase. Any ideas ? Loose wiring ? Second thing which is a plan for the weekend is none of the electronic dial lights are illuminating at all ? There is a small horizontal strip to the left and to the right of the wheel which i believe should form an LCD display for KM's and other info ? In addition none of the dash lights are illuminating....ie: engine warning, door open, handbrake on, etc, etc. Is this a case of doing some resoldering ala the GTO dash display or is it worse? Car runs very nicely indeed but ovbiously don't want to be driving around with no warning lights working as i'd be oblivious to any mishaps. Cheers in advance and apologies if there is threads on this. I did a brief search but i'm already late for a birthday party with the good lady and she's going :taped: Thanks ! Supradan
The lights could be a dodgy stalk switch or a sticky relay
creative
the lights do indeed sound like a dodgy stalk and the warning lights will be dry joints. whip them out and resolder them.... dead easy job and common as muck fella
clarky666
Thanks for the guys. Do these run of fuses in the footwell ? Is that also worth checking? Failing that i'm guessing i just need to detach the dash surround from the autobox upwards to get in and resolder?

clarky666
Good stuf guys. Managed to get the dash warning lights back but still working on a digitial oddometer. Light stalk seems to be goosed so sourcing a replacement from a scrappies and hopefully that'll be me on my way !
