"Whatever goes around , comes around"

I would have handed it back , i couldnt live with myself for stealing that .

Not really stealing though, but I see where you are coming from. I admire this taxi driver spending 2 days to find the passengers. I am not sure many would have been so dedicated.

Why not?

If you find £10 on the seat of an empty train its not stealing if you find it is it?

And if you take that example further, if you saw the passenger get up and realise just a moment later a £10 was left on the seat. If you don't bother telling him/her you re not stealing their money even after the doors close are you? Admittedly you are not being super honest but classifying it as stealing is a tad harsh I think.

Maybe I am wrong I dunno ;)

Yes, its theft plain and simple.

If the owner can be traced and no effort is made to trace the owner = theft.

As the people had been in his cab and he's taken them somewhere.... possibly home, then in this country not giving it back or handing it in is theft.

You find £10 note on the pavement and pocket it = theft by finding.

Its theft any which way you look at it
