Help please!

I bought my Supra around 9 months ago and the MOT is comming up for it so I had it tested today and it failed!

It seems that I dont have a 'propper' rear fog light and no side indicators.

My rear fog light is one of my reversing lights but it dont glow red and there is no indication inside the car as to when its on.... and I have no sidr ndicators at all.

Can someone advise me whats the easiest way round this issue..... I know someone will come through for me!

The fog light warning is correct, it will need an interior warning light. There are many posts on the forum how to correct this.

For both issues you mention, could you confirm if your car a 'facelift' one with no side repeaters and the facelift rear lights?

change your fog switch for one with an indicator lamp on it

change your front blobs for facelift front indicators (£75) that should correct the "side indicator problem"

replace the rear fog light with a red bulb, or get an LED replacement that is red

  • 4 months later...

Moving on from this a little bit more!

I have now been looking for a rear bulb (red one) for ages, and at JAE this year I found a stall who sold them.

Unfortunately, the guy after advising me it was right from a booklet on his stall told me it was correct for a 1998 mkiv supra.

Ideal I thought jobs a good'un!

Then I get home and find out it doesnt fit as I have a different bulb connector/holder, now I know the difference between facelift and not, but I still cant find the correct bulb in red for my facelift rear reverse light.

Surely somebody other than me has experienced this before, any pointers as to a good bulb supplier, looked everywhere with no luck so far!

Cheers All...........>

Pudsey just get some red glass paint and slap it on a normal bulb you'll find it works a treat :)

Ah yes the people who imported the car had already done this but it was showing some white light, the coverage wasn't great really thats all!

I just wanted to replace it with the proper bulb, but looks like thats not going to be an option unless anyone else can advise otherwise.

Thanks though buddy!!

Can you not just take the bulb out and take it to Halfrauds or some place like that?

Thats the thing.

I know what I need, its a push in flat type bulb fitment (similiar to a spade fuse) not the circular spring ball point end version.

Doesn't look as though you can buy them!

I only posted as a last resort as I have searched everything I can think of by foot and finger.........>

Yes thats the bulb for sure!

I will have another look to be spot on, and see what they have many thanks for that much appreciated! :D

New someone would know top man!

From your description it sounds like you have the facelift (96-02) rear lights fitted. See link below I *think* this is the one you need from memory, but double check sizes against yours to be sure.
