Ric
yes it is, usually a 30quid fine and a rectification notice. But if you're caught 4-5 times the police can make the DVLA put you on a Q plate which will make your car hard to sell in the future. Multics
AFAIK Q plates are reserved for kit cars... no?
AdzC
It is a £30 non endorsable fine OR a VDRS You are getting confused with the Q plates as they are no longer issued. The DVLA can revoke a cherished plate if the owner has been reported twice before for misrepresenting the characters (use of bolts, spacing etc)
NeoFuture
well my original plate is L300 OSC and its the plate the car was first registered on, so if i 1) didnt have a front plate and 2) changed the letter spaceing, i wonder what i would be done for... lol

edge
If you want a small plate have a look on http://www.craigsplates.com got mine from there and they have all the legal jargon on there too. There are different min sizes you can have depending on how many digits make up your reg number. Mine was legit
