Rich
Just bought an N/A for my partner ,to my shock A-plan have quoted me what would be a premium of £900 for me to change my insurance to this car. This seems a little steep to me as my single insurance is £1050 for the year. She is 31 with 10 years without an accident and maximum no claims bonus.I was added to the insurance at an additional premium of £27 so her quote was £873. Anybody know a really cheap place to insure N/A's and how much are you guys paying?Age?NCD? Thanks for any help, Rich:)
tooquicktostop
I found the NA just as expensive as a Jspec TT in most cases, Sky did me a great deal in the end, I have had both my cars insured with them for some time now, they even handle change of cars with ease, well worth a try

stevie_b
I'm one or two years older than your partner, and I insure my NA with Sky. I've got full NCD. I can't remember my exact premium but I think it was much nearer to £500.

I thought you could and you'd only pay for the months you'd used plus an admin fee for them to shut it down. Seem to recall I done this a few years ago and they even gave me a quarter years no claims. Wasnt with Elephant though. Basically just ring them and say you want to cancel your policy as youve found one that offers the same for less than half the price. Worse thay can do is say they cant do any better. Then just get the new one activated for the same time as the other runs out. I just changed mine (now with the co-op/CIS) after the initial renewal from my previous lot showed no change at all. Went on line and found it for £200 less (and Mrs done it through Quidco so got a bit of money coming back from that as well). Cancelled with previous mob and they asked me why. Told them I got it much cheaper and they said that they would match it. Told them they should have thought about offering me the lowest price beforehand before automatically renewing, so they could lap off. Are you sure your policy has your car down as a mkIV and not a mkIII? (If it says SZ on the policy, then this is a good sign).
tooley
yep i had to ring just to make sure as at first the sz threw the automated bit out so had to speak with them. i may give elephant a ring and try that as its half the price of my new install so worth trying

Supranature
As has frequently been pointed out in previous "Look How Much My Insurance Is" threads, its all irrelevant. Most of it is down to your postcode, ask any insurer. For what its worth, I'm 49. never claimed, the car is kept off the road, mileage limited to 5000, have insured Porsches, Lotuses, RS Cossies, etc in the past. I would say I,m a good risk, yes? The cheapest quote I can get is £895. Why? Liverpool 12. Thats for a stockish NA....

My birds been refused a quote on some sites whilst others quote between 300 and 800 with the same postcode and details.

To add to the above, L12 is a decent area, HOWEVER, L11 is next to it, so the theiving scum travel INTO L12 to theive/damage decent motors For those that don,t know, L11 is the notorious Norris Green/Croxteth as seen on Ross Kemps "Gangs of Liverpool" Raze the whole area down to the ground and ship them to Afghanistan, I say
