scottysupra
Hey everyone im having some smoking problems with my jap spec supra. It never smoked until a couple of weeks after i went B.P.U and judging by all the other threads on here im sure the turbo seals are leaking . Does anyone know if and who would be able to rebuild my stock turbos? HAs anyone had this done before? How much cash am i looking at? Thanks

Tricky-Ricky
Any turbo refurbishes can do a rebuild and balance, IMO one of the best are Turbo Technics.
Chris Wilson
If you are happy to have the heavier and slower spooling, and maybe, some would say, less closely toleranced specification of a rebuilt turbo with steel internals, then there are dozens of specialists. I have used Turbo Dynamics and Turbo Technics with excellent results. Personally I would go for new, stock ceramic turbos from Nic, who can supply at a reasonable discount. I have found them best for spool, and best for overall reliability, long term.
scottysupra
Thanks guys i think i will have a word with turbo technics, turbo dynamics and Nic and get some prices. Do you think its best to stay with the jap spec ceramic turbos then instead of the uk steels?
Chris Wilson
Personally, yes. the ceramics spool better, seem to have a MUCH longer life at sensible boost pressures, and aren't THAT expensive for what they are.

Got to agree with that. Based on the last price I received from Nic the stock jspec turbo's were cheaper than the "hybrid's" offered by any trader here. scottysupra
Cheers i think i will stick to the ceramic turbos then seeing as i will be staying at B.P.U power. Just waiting for a price back from Nic. Also how long does it normally take to remove and refit the turbos and will i need any special tools?
