Hey everyone im having some smoking problems with my jap spec supra. It never smoked until a couple of weeks after i went B.P.U and judging by all the other threads on here im sure the turbo seals are leaking :(. Does anyone know if and who would be able to rebuild my stock turbos? HAs anyone had this done before? How much cash am i looking at? Thanks

If you are happy to have the heavier and slower spooling, and maybe, some would say, less closely toleranced specification of a rebuilt turbo with steel internals, then there are dozens of specialists. I have used Turbo Dynamics and Turbo Technics with excellent results. Personally I would go for new, stock ceramic turbos from Nic, who can supply at a reasonable discount. I have found them best for spool, and best for overall reliability, long term.

Personally, yes. the ceramics spool better, seem to have a MUCH longer life at sensible boost pressures, and aren't THAT expensive for what they are.

Got to agree with that. Based on the last price I received from Nic the stock jspec turbo's were cheaper than the "hybrid's" offered by any trader here.
