Another thing, when using the manu mode, how do you guys use it? whats better (performance wise)? sticking it in D or using L, 2 and then D???

How to beat a 306:

 

1. Wait for green light.

2. Release handbrake.

3. Floor it.

 

If 306 is still with you go back and check step two again.

to be fair edge, i wasnt owned by a 306! it didnt beat me! I didnt have overdrive on and didnt know about the "manu" button. ive read the article about auto transmissions but cant figure out what setup will be best. what do you guys use when at the lights?

I would be quite suprised if you had lost to the pug, if it was the gti6 then it has the same engine as my Xsara vts but my acceleration in quicker (due to the better ratio 5 speed box) and I have a few +bhp goodies. IMO I think i'd be able to hold my own against a NA auto supe up to about 30 but then once the supe has traction i'd have problems (just to note, i've never been up against a supe but have based this from other cars that have come along with simmilar power to weight ratios)

oh c'mon fellas manu mode is not going to give the N/A world beating performance (just the same as it doesn't the TT) and how many times on this thread have i read "crap driver", IT'S AN AUTO, you point it where you want it to go and press the loud pedal and thats it, the bottom line is the N/A kicks out a "whopping" 137 bhp/ton , lets face it from a performance point of view these cars are pretty embarrasing, why do people buy these castrated sheep in wolves clothing then complain they just got beat by a metro, its bad enough the N/A supras exist but please dont race them

Lol The NA is a 220bhp lump in a heavy RWD car. It's not that quick no matter how it's driven, fact.

 

You do not buy an NA supra to play traffic light Grand Prix with any modern car, they're an old (relatively) cost effective grand cruiser but are not a performance car.
