Hi guys, im thinking of selling my Supra. Ive only had it a few weeks. The reason for this is that i come up against a pug 306 at the lights the other night and went for it, but the 306 wouldnt budge! it kept right by my side. The reason for me buying a supra was because i love the look (and still do) but want the speed more so! I automatically assumed that the supra would be rapid! especially when you put your foot down and hear that massive roar!!!! I looked into getting a TT, but the costs would be silly for me and it'd take me a couple of years to save up!

To sum it up, i'm really gutted about my supra!

Ive got the N/A 4 speed AUTO.

Oh dear. A couple of sayings for you:

1) Assumption is the mother of all f**k-ups.

2) Buy cheap, buy twice.

A bit more of a helpful post from me: you could keep it and save up for a TT swap? You've got to weigh up whether you can afford to keep a powerful car though. If you bought a NA auto, I'm guessing price was a major factor in deciding what supra to buy.

A supra is a heavy 15 year old car, and many modern cars will keep up with an NA supra.

How did you get beat by a 306? A supra na isn't that slow.

I'd take the spare wheel out, tool kit and all the other crap for a start. Get some v.lightweight alloys and decent tyres. And as Red Rocket says, learn to use the manual mode. Change the exhaust to a lighter straight through model if you have not already. Take cats out for that few extra bhp.

Do a tune up and you should be a bit quicker.

You shouldnt sell your car on the merit of losing against one car, regardless of its size.

As stated your supra is not the "high performance" version, you do however have a whole host of class and style that a plain old pug will never match. If you went up against something like a GTI, its simply down to the general rule of thumb with regards power to weight ratio.. your gonna get creamed unles syou have something tuned!

At the end of the day if you bought a supra to race other cars or have something faster than the next bloke two things concern me.. One, thats your doin all this on the roads, what if someone walks out infront of you..and two, that you have chosen the wrong version of supra [N/A] to be going off racing every tom dick and harry.

My honest advice would be to enjoy what you have and stop worrying about not being able to beat everyone else in a race. How common are pug's and what not in comparison to Supra's. Chin up old bean! :)
